Tahlequah First United Methodist Church, 300 West Delaware, is hosting a Celebration Estate Sale scheduled to open Sunday, December 2, and run for a full week. Sale hours are December 2 from noon to 5 pm, December 3 to December 8 from 8 am to 6 pm, and December 9 from noon to 5 pm.
This estate sale coincides with the church’s celebration of 175 years of Methodism in the Tahlequah area. It will feature valued legacy and heirloom quality items and be held in the church atrium; please use the west entrance to the church building.
Purchases will be cash only.
The proceeds will go to pay down the TFUMC building mortgage principal. Because community groups and organizations often use the church facilities, planners of the event are eager for a generous response from the community.
Here are some of the item videos we have put together.

thank you to the FUMC family for providing space for their rehearsals for Peter Pan,

The Penguin Project provides an opportunity for children and youth with special
needs to participate in the performing arts. Artists with special needs are linked
with a peer mentor who provides individual assistance as needed. The peer mentors
work side-by-side with their artist partners, assisting them throughout the entire
rehearsal process and on stage during performances. Several members of the FUMC
family are involved in this production including Katy June, Judy Young, Kyron Tobey,

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. It marks the beginning of a period of reflection and penance. In the Bible, sprinkling oneself with ashes was traditionally a sign of one’s sorrow for having committed sins. In the Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday also marked the beginning of preparation for the understanding of the death and resurrection of Christ. The particular symbolism of ashes for this day comes from a practice in the Roman Catholic churches in which the ashes from the palms used in the preceding year’s Palm Sunday celebration are blessed. With these ashes, the priest on the first day of Lent marks a cross on the forehead of each worshiper. This practice has become a part of Ash Wednesday services in many United Methodist Churches. So start your Lenten journey off right by joining us Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for our Ash Wednesday Service.
