Fall Church-Wide Study

Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity

On Sunday, 9/8/19, we will begin a churchwide study and worship emphasis called Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. Over a period of 4 weeks, we will look at some of the financial challenges facing us as a nation and examine our own spending, saving, and giving habits. In addition to exploring biblical principles of financial management, we will learn ways to assess our financial situation and develop a financial plan that will allow us to experience the true joy that comes through simplicity and generosity.

At the end of the emphasis, we will have the opportunity to make personal commitments of giving for the coming year. We will consecrate these commitments on Sunday, 10/6/19.

Keep up with our website www.tahlequahumc.org and our Facebook for more information, including details about small group study opportunities during this time. We have copies of the book in the office for $15.00 or you can find it digitally in most places you can buy books.

Wesley Lemonade Stand Help

Cookies needed for NSU Wesley. It is that time of year again. NSU Wesley will host their lemonade stand August 19th and 20th. They will be welcoming students back with free lemonade and homemade cookies. We serve approximately 500 students over the course of two days, so all cookies are appreciated.

If you would like to bake some cookies for this service of love project, please bring the baked cookies to the church office or to the Wesley Foundation by Sunday Aug.18.

Thank you so much for the love and support you give to the NSU Wesley Foundation.

CHOIR NEWS

Thanks to all those who willingly gave of their talent and time in providing solos and ensembles for special music this summer. BRAVO!!!!

It is soon time for the choir to start back with regular Wednesday night rehearsals at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary choir loft. We will do so on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 21st The time off has rejuvenated us all for another exciting year. During the Christmas season, we will provide anthems for a LESSONS AND CAROLS service complete with scriptures, readers, and appropriate anthems to help portray the Christmas story. Our choir has a tradition of doing such a service in past years.

SPECIAL NOTICE: NO auditions are required for participation in the choir. To join, one DOES NOT need any previous professional music training or choir experience. JUST SHOW UP!!!!!!!!! Experience reading music is also NOT required. Each anthem is rehearsed beginning 4 weeks before it is presented. There is plenty of time for ALL members to feel well prepared. No extra practice time is needed. Wednesday night rehearsals are adequate time to learn the music.

All volunteers are welcomed. We are especially in need of men. My experience is that women always admire a man who SINGS!!! Don’t feel embarrassed. Notice there are four couples in the choir (Bekkerings, Stuckys, Warrens, and Daniels). To find out more info call the Church office at 918-456-6141

We are a very cordial and fun-loving group. Come on Wednesday, August 21st and try us out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope to see a BIG crowd on the 21st 7 p.m.
