Matt Franks Hymn: God, We Love This Congregation! Tune: Ludwig van Beethoven, 1824 ("Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee") Text: Copyright © 2021 by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette.
God, we love this congregation! On this day, we're glad to see friends and neighbors, gathered, praying, as a church community. Young and old, we join in worship — some in-person, some online. We are drawn by faith and friendship to this blessed place and time. In this year with all its trials, there are things that we have missed. Still, in Christ, you've walked beside us; by your Spirit, we've been blessed. Love's our history, love's our vision, Love's the work we're called to do. Bless us as our congregation moves together, serving you.
CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER Liturgist All: Almighty God, we come to worship you today with open hearts and open minds. We want to hear and receive what you have to say to us in this service. Speak to us today as you spoke to those who went before us. Tell us the stories of your wonders and greatness. We are ready to hear them. Remind us once again of your grace and love. Help us teach your goodness to our children and the next generation. Amen. Hymn: Make Me A Servant TFWS 2176

Matt Franks The Lord’s Prayer Liturgist ALL: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Hymn: It Is Well With MY Soul UMH 377 1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it well with my soul. It is well (It is well) with my soul, (with my soul,) it is well, it is well with my soul. 2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control, that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul. It is well (It is well) with my soul, (with my soul,) it is well, it is well with my soul. 3. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! It is well (It is well) with my soul, (with my soul,) it is well, it is well with my soul. 4. And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul. It is well (It is well) with my soul, (with my soul,) it is well, it is well with my soul.

Hymn of Response: God, With Joy We Look Around Us Tune: Henry Thomas Smart, 1867 ("Angels, from the Realms of Glory") Text: Copyright © 2000 by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette. All rights reserved.
God, with joy we look around us At your world's diversity. Folk of every kind surround us And you call your church to see: All are made in your own image! All are people whom you love! In the times we've hurt each other, Lord, we've hurt the ones you bless. Hating sister, cursing brother, We've denied what you express: All are made in your own image! All are people whom you love! God, you sent a Savior to us, Breaking walls that would divide. By your Spirit, now work through us As we witness side by side: All are made in your own image! All are people whom you love!

UMW NEWS
We are planning two service projects for Help in Crisis, our local women’s and children's domestic abuse shelter. The first event is Tuesday, June 1st at 10 am in the Atrium, where we will bring kitchen utensils and supplies such as silverware, pots, and pans, cooking spatulas and spoons, etc. Some of the items will stay with the shelter and some will go with the women when they leave.
On Tuesday, July 13th we will meet again to collect cleaning supplies such as buckets, detergent, bleach, mops, brooms, and cleaning rags. Everyone is welcome to participate in this project and is invited for lunch afterward at a local restaurant.
